What is this site?

If you are looking at starting a Sprint PCS Cellular Account, I want to make you aware of the problems that I have had with them.  Everything appearing here is true and documentation is provided to back it up.  I will offer my opinions in many places and will usually mark that this is my opinion, while you need to reserve your personal opinion to your own interpretation of the facts.  This was my second time doing business with Sprint PCS.  I was assured before signing up that they had fixed the issues I had prior, but in my opinion all of the issues remained and were worse than my first time around.

Summary of my Issues with Sprint PCS Cellular Services:

I am writing this in early June of 2008.  Since January of 2008 this is a total summary of issues with Sprint:

In 5 months Sprint has charged me $1,624 in fraudulent taxes, late fees on those taxes and other various fees. They have admitted to all of this being mistakes, but they continue to repeat the same charges month after month and do not refund as they promise they will and then add more late fees for the unpaid charges.  to date they have refunded $1420 in charges over 5 months.  All totaled my wife and I have spent 25+ hours on the phone, 5+ hours in stores, sent countless emails and yet until I terminated my service, they were still charging me fraudulent charges every month.  We own a small business and I am the President of several local non-profit professional organizations and we do not have time to fix Sprint's mistakes every month.  We have petitioned them for 3 months to just terminate our contract and let us do business elsewhere and they refuse to do so.  As I write this we are in the process of filing a small claims lawsuit and after yet another bill arrived with the same screw-ups we finally switched companies on our own.  We have 5 lines, so they want $1000 in termination fees. OPINION - With all the problems this seems ridiculous to me.  the minute they started making unauthorized changes to our account and charging us taxes for a state we do not live in I feel they violated our contract.  They were not servicing our account in good faith and left me now choice but to stop using their services.

If you click on documentation above I have detailed all of the charges and posted all of the billing sections of our bills that show the problems areas.  Everything stated is true and has the documentation provided.  I have also provided much of our notes above form our phone conversations. Many other phone conversations took place but yielded no results at all.

A little more detail on what is written above (but still not all the details):

1. Sprint changed my address via their computer mistakes without my knowledge or permission to an address in Florida I  have nothing to do with.

2. As I tried to find out why I was not getting bills and get problems resolved, they accused me on several occasions of changing the address myself ( I still have not figured out how that could ever have benefited me!) and said they could not even access it. (which they later admitted was not true)  I spent hours going through their security channels to eventually be told they had done a major computer up-grade that had changed my address and sent 2 months of my bills to Florida ( I live in Arizona)

3. They charged me $999.98 for disconnecting lines (plus $81.00 in taxes on those phones) that were never disconnected and remained in use with Sprint til the day I recently terminated service.

4. As I spoke to over 30 Sprint officials on 15 different occasions and spent over 25 hours on the phone and dealing with management they charged me late charges every month as I had not paid the mistaken and fraudulent charges they assessed to my account.

5. Upon the 1st round of getting this straightened out they offered me a free replacement phone to make up for all the trouble.  This was in lieu of using our insurance which would have cost us a $50 deductible.  They then added that phone onto my next bill and charged me over $125 in fees for the "free" phone.  When we called in, they promised on 3 different occasions to remove this charge.  they still have not removed it to this day, and once again, have been charging us late fees on the amount not paid.

6. Ever since January of this year they have charged me on average $27.00 in Florida State taxes per month. (once again, I have lived in Arizona since 1996 and have never had any service based in Florida)  I have spoken to initial customer service, asked for a supervisor and been assured every single month for 5 months straight that the problem was resolved and I would not be charged again.  Every month, the bill comes in and the Florida taxes are there again.  In the same conversations they have told me they are removing the fraudulent charges, but to this day they have only removed 1 month's fees entirely and 1/2 of another months.  I still have about $80 in taxes that have been riding my bill since day one,  as I have not paid this amount they have also added insult to injury by charging me late fees on the unpaid fraudulent fees.

7. I have contacted local store management, John Drexler, Retail Store Manager Sprint SUPERSTORE at Tempe (#519)  1844 E Southern Ave Tempe, AZ 85282

This is where I signed up for and expanded my coverage.  He did refund half the cost of the free phone I was charged for (corporate service was to have refunded the rest, but they never did).

He also assured me he would fix the tax issue and would review my case and get back to me.. he made an offer, after about a week that still involved me paying hundreds of dollars in termination fees.  I rejected the offer and gave a counter offer for credits on my bill and offered to stay with Sprint.  After 2 weeks I tried to contact him again to find he just left on vacation (without ever responding to me).. After lots of pulling teeth I got the email address and phone number of the regional manager, Steve Marshall.  I left him a phone message and sent him 2 emails, (I sent all of these with read receipts and they were all read).  He has never responded.  I also sent correspondence to corporate who also never responded.  Meanwhile my new bill arrived.. No credits as promised for the "free" phone, No credits for any of the Florida taxes (as promised).  No credits on any of the late fees (as promised), New charges for Florida taxes (which for 4 months consecutively were promised to be fixed, by Sprint Customer Service Supervisors).

I finally have given up.. I moved my service to a different Cellular Carrier and I am in the process of filing a small claims case to recoup termination fees and back charges. (Sprint makes you sign off to agree to arbitration versus court in their contracts, but does allow for small claims.)

Sprint PCS made some major website and major billing changes in late December 2007 and early January of 2008.  I live in Mesa, Arizona.   In doing these changes they changed my address to 3722 NW 16th St. Lauderhill, FL 33311-4132.  We did not instigate this change nor were we aware of it at the time.

If you click on documentation above I have detailed all of the charges and posted all of the billing sections of our bills that show the problems areas.  Everything stated is true and has the documentation provided.  I have also provided much of our notes above form our phone conversations. Many other phone conversations took place but yielded no results at all.
